Previously, there was a computer called Cray xT5 jaguar and located at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory compliting 1.75 petaflop calculation.

This supercomputer uses 14,339 intel xeon CPUs and 7,168 NVIDIA Tesla M2050 GPUs crunching 2,507 trillion floating point calculations per second or 2.507 petaflops.
NVIDIA claims that the "Tianhe-1A" consumes around 4.04 megawatts of power. NVIDIA officials said, This supercomputer is built by the National University of Defence Technology and located at the National Supercomputing center in Tianjin, has horsepower equivalent to 175,000 laptop computers.
