Google has given all of it's employees $1,000 cash “holiday bonuses” and 2011 salary increases of at least 10%, According to Arrington, about 80 percent of Google employees stay when given a counter to a Facebook offer. Not everyone gets this type of employment bribe, but it’s also not unusual. And that’s really bad for the company. The 10% company-wide raise will take effect on January 1, 2011. People work for reasons other than money, unless they’re mercenaries. The problem with hiring specialized soldiers of fortunes is that theirs is a loyalty whose price must constantly be renewed. When a better offer arrives, the mercenary departs. In addition, Google will also give each employee an additional raise equivalent to 1X the employee’s target bonus for the year. And employees will be eligible for additional “merit increases” based on their individual performance. Google said its four top executives – Patrick Pichette, Chief Financial Officer, Global Business Head Nikesh Arora, Engineering-and-Research Chief Alan Eustace and product chief Jonathan Rosenberg- would each see their increase on pay from $500,000 to $650,000 next year. This represents a rise of 30%.

.while the base salaries of Chief Executive Eric Schmidt and co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin would remain at $1. The three executives have not participated in the executive bonus plan since 2004.

The four executive officers would also be eligible for bonuses of 250% of their base pay, up from the current 150%. The company further said that half of the bonus would be based on the individual performance and the remaining 50% would be based on internet ,search titan’s financial performance.

Besides, executives will also get equity awards worth a total of $55 million this year. This is a sign that despite being in business for longer than a decade, Google’s management style is immature and reactive. Thank you for visiting our site......

US President Barack Obama's upcoming trip to India has been criticised by a Republican leader as "over-the-top" spending but the White House said the figures cited by the lawmaker have "no basis" in reality."

Tomorrow, President Barack Obama leaves for India on a ten-day tour ending in South Korea, costing us taxpayers some $200 Million dollars a day! Obama is bringing an entourage of 3,000 people with him. Obama’s trip to India does include a meeting with Prime Minister Manohan Singh in New Delhi. There is no doubt that Obama got his clock cleaned during yesterday’s November 2010 mid term elections. A top official of the Maharashtra Government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit has reckoned that a whopping $200 million (Rs 900 crore approx) per day would be spent by various teams coming from the US in connection with Obama's two-day stay in the city. About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists would accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already in Mumbai for the past one week with helicopters, a ship and high-end security instruments. Obama is already getting off on the wrong foot even before he boards his jet. President Barack Obama spoke about his India trip with journalists from India this morning, telling them that two key issues facing Indo-US relations, a permanent seat on the UN Security Council and an easing of export laws, could be “very difficult and complicated”. Not what they wanted to hear. Bachmann's comments come on the same day she formally announced her bid to join the House Republican leadership and become the chair of the House Republican Conference in the next Congress. She already has at least one rival for job.

China's Supercomputer Tianhe-1A

The supercomputer named "Tianhe - 1A is now China owes the supercomputing supremacy & the US no longer owns the world's fastest supercomputer. China can run calculations faster than the previous speed leader a computer at a US lab in Tennesse. This new computer set a performance record by crunching 2.507 petaflops of data at once.

Previously, there was a computer called Cray xT5 jaguar and located at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory compliting 1.75 petaflop calculation.


This supercomputer uses 14,339 intel xeon CPUs and 7,168 NVIDIA Tesla M2050 GPUs crunching 2,507 trillion floating point calculations per second or 2.507 petaflops.

NVIDIA claims that the "Tianhe-1A" consumes around 4.04 megawatts of power. NVIDIA officials said, This supercomputer is built by the National University of Defence Technology and located at the National Supercomputing center in Tianjin, has horsepower equivalent to 175,000 laptop computers.
